Help make music happen! Our committees bring families together to support BP music students throughout the year. Explore the opportunities below and contact a committee chair to get involved.

Band Festival

Band Festival

Celebrate regional marching bands by helping host the annual festival. Volunteers coordinate advertising, tickets, candygrams, the event program, and booths.

When: July through Band Festival Day

Volunteer needs: 4-5 Festival Captains and 35-40 volunteers on event day

Bylaws

The committee chair help's the president, officers, and executive board keep the organization's bylaws current and appropriate.

When: All year

Volunteer needs: The committee chair handles all responsibilities.

Chaperones

Support students at music events and Friday night marching band activities. The chairs maintain a list of paid booster members with current volunteer clearances.

When: August through marching band season, plus events throughout the year

Volunteer needs: Varies by event; visit the Volunteer tab to sign up.

Chaperones committee details

Obtain, transport, store, set up, and take down equipment. Maintain the booster equipment inventory and coordinate with committee chairs, officers, and directors.

When: Primarily mid-August through marching band season, plus other events

Volunteer needs: Varies by event. Contact Melissa Smith about donating water or snacks for marching band students at football games.

Equipment committee details

Plan and run events such as music ensemble picnics and Electrify Your Strings, and organize refreshments for hoagie sales.

When: August throughout the year

Volunteer needs: Multiple volunteers for each event.

Event Support committee details

Hoagie Sales

This chair organizes, sets up, and tears down equipment for each hoagie sale (5 total sales for each school year). They maintain data and provide officers and directors with said data.

When: Through-out the year. Refer to hoagie dates in the link below.

Volunteer needs: Multiple for Friday set up 2:45 pm - 4:30 pm, Saturday: One parent per seller.

Marching Band Banquet

Marching Band Banquet

Band Banquet committee description: August through Band Banquet Day The band banquet is an end of Marching Band season event to celebrate the hard work and dedication of all marching band members. The committee creates invitations, plans the menu, decorates, sets up the event, and cleans up.

When: January 17 2027

Volunteer needs: 2-3 for planning, 12 on day of event

Musical Cast Party

The chair organizes the cast party that happens on the closing night of the musical in HS cafeteria usually from 10:30 pm-1am. You will be in charge of getting all decorations, food, and a DJ. Usually needs 10-20 volunteers for decorating prior to musical and chaperones for the cast party.

When: March 20th, 2027 @ 10:30 pm

Volunteer needs: Friday night football games, Community Day, and other events as needed.

Help make the spring musical extra special! This committee selects, orders, organizes, and sells fun musical-themed gifts and merchandise for audience members for the spring musical.

When: Mid January – Last day of musical

Volunteer needs: 2-3 to plan, 10-12 volunteers each musical night

Musical Luncheon

This chair coordinates and creates a luncheon on double run through day. Deposits and tracks all payments for vendors, and coordinates with officers and directors

When: Mid January – Double Run Through Day

Volunteer needs: 15 volunteers on the day of the event

Performance Attire

Fit students for performance attire, order supplies, maintain attire contracts, track payments, and coordinate event needs with officers and directors. Contact the chairs for Chamber, Symphonic Band, or Marching Band uniform alterations.

When: Mid-July through the end of the year

Volunteer needs: Varies, especially August through mid-September. Sewing skills are especially needed for the chair role.

Publicity and Advocacy

Create and maintain signs for hoagie sales, festivals, and musicals; coordinate district publicity; and organize spirit nights with officers and directors. Businesses interested in hosting a spirit day can contact the chairs.

When: Mid-August through the end of the year

Volunteer needs: The committee chairs handle all responsibilities.

Senior Night

Senior Night event This chair coordinates all senior night events for marching band, communicates with senior families regarding photos and on field events. They set up and tear down the day of and collaborate with officers and directors

When: October 30th

Volunteer needs: 12 volunteers for event night, grade 9-11 parents only

Senior Night Details

Video

This chair records band performances throughout the year and creates a year-end video to be shared at the Band Banquet and Spring Picnic. They also work with the officers and directors to capture special moments and highlights from the season.

When: Mid August – Marching Band season

Ways and Means

Manage inventory and sell BP Music merchandise at school-year events. Track and deposit payments, and coordinate with officers, committee chairs, directors, and vendors.

When: Mid-August through the end of the year

Volunteer needs: Friday night football games, Community Day, and other events as needed.

These chairs capture photos at music events throughout the year and designs and creates the annual Music Department yearbook. They also coordinate yearbook orders and work with directors, Booster chairs, and vendors. A personal camera is required.

When: Mid-August through the end of the year

Volunteer needs: Photographers though-out the year
